CHERIE CURRIE (USA)
SEPTEMBER 2025
The legendary voice of The Runaways is back for one last electrifying tour Down Under in September 2025.
Australian rock and punk fans, prepare to witness history! Cherie Currie, the trailblazing rock icon and former front-woman of the groundbreaking band The Runaways, has announced her final Australian tour. This marks the first time Currie has graced Australian stages since her debut Australian tour in 2016—and it will be her last!
As one of rock’s true pioneers, Cherie Currie exploded onto the music scene in the 1970s as the unmistakable teenage voice of The Runaways, delivering anthems like “Cherry Bomb” that redefined what it meant to be a young, fearless woman in rock ‘n’ roll so much though that she was described as the “lost daughter of Iggy Pop and Bridgette Bardot”.
Alongside her bandmates in The Runaways, she shattered barriers, inspired generations of female rockers, and cemented her place in music history.
But Cherie Currie is more than just a rock legend. She’s a style icon, celebrated for her edgy, daring style that continues to influence trends today. Her iconic corsets, platform boots, and glam-punk flair are still a source of inspiration in pop culture.
Currie’s talents have also shone beyond the stage. As an actress, she starred alongside Jodie Foster in the 1980 classic “Foxes”, a film that captured the spirit of youth and rebellion. More recently, her life and career were immortalised in the acclaimed biopic “The Runaways,” starring Dakota Fanning as Cherie and Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett.
For this farewell tour, Cherie Currie promises fans a high-energy setlist packed with Runaways hits, solo favourites, and surprises, celebrating her remarkable journey in rock.
“Currie came across like a panther let out of a cage… Currie amazingly looked every bit the vixen that she was at 15. She still has the vocal chops. Currie truly owned the stage.” New Wave Go.
Cherie Currie’s Final Australian Tour is the ultimate celebration of a rock legend who defined an era and inspired countless fans and would-be musicians around the globe. Whilst The Runaways never made it to Australia, we have been lucky enough to witness their iconic vocalist not only once, but now twice with a chance to say goodbye.
Joining Cherie Currie is Shameless, the hard-hitting German glam rock powerhouse, who have built a reputation for delivering electrifying live performances packed with attitude, anthems, and unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll spirit across seven studio albums. Whilst the band is based in Central Europe, they boast an international lineup of front-men who have led the way on their albums including John Corabi, Jizzy Pearl, Phil Lewis and Stevie Rachelle.
On this tour, the band will be fronted by Rachelle, the charismatic lead vocalist of Los Angeles quartet, Tuff. With his signature gritty voice and undeniable stage presence, Stevie brings a fiery passion that perfectly complements Shameless's high-octane sound. Fans can expect a set list packed with material from both the Shameless and Tuff catalogues as well as a surprise or two.
